Genesee Cat Fanciers 64th Annual CFA Cat Show
Fancy felines from around the country will have the opportunity to earn Top Cat status at the 64th annual CFA cat show sponsored by Genesee Cat Fanciers. The cat show will be held on Saturday & Sunday, March 6 & 7, 2016 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Sweden-Clarkson Community Center in Brockport, NY. More than 200 pedigreed cats are expected to compete in this year’s show. Many beautiful breeds and household pets are on the list of competitors including Maine Coon, Scottish Fold, Sphynx and Abyssinian, as well as some of the more well-known pedigreed cats, from Siamese to Persian. The CFA cat show will be open to the public and will provide an entertaining day for spectators. In addition to the judging activities, which will take place throughout the show, spectators will have the opportunity to see cats “up close and in the fur” while they’re waiting to compete. Breeders are happy to answer any questions about their cats and many of them will offer kittens for sale. Also, CFA Ambassadors, who will be wearing a button that says “Ask Me”, will be available to talk to spectators and show them around the show hall. Tickets will be available at the gate. The cost of admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ages 4-12 years and FREE for those under 3! Genesee Cat Fanciers is a member of The Cat Fanciers’ Association [CFA]. CFA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of cats. CFA was founded in 1906 and is the world’s largest pedigreed cat registry with affiliated clubs producing more than 325 shows a year. Hamilton College Choir to Perform in Rochester

The 53-member Hamilton College Choir will visit Rochester during its annual March tour. The performance is free and open to the public. The program for Hamilton’s 2016 tour is a varied one that includes sacred and secular music such as Thompson’s “Alleluia,” Swider’s “Cantate Domino,” Macfarren’s “Orpheus with His Lute” and Washburn’s “Two Chinese Melodies.” The Hamilton College Choir boasts an uninterrupted tradition of fine choral singing that dates back for over a century. It is directed by G. Roberts Kolb, professor of music and director of choral music at Hamilton since 1981.

Three Cancer Charities Collaborate on the Inaugural Kick Cancer 15K Race Series
Rochester, NY – 13thirty Cancer Connect, Anna’s Wish and Christopher’s Challenge are proud to announce a new collaborative race series. Throughout the 2016 racing season, the three organizations will offer a discounted rate to runners participating in all three races. The three individual 5K races will create the Kick Cancer 15K Race Series. A special prize will be given to runners completing the series. As leaders in the field of adolescent and young adult cancer, 13thirty Cancer Connect proposed this unique series to other community cancer organizations in order to better leverage our community resources. Anna’s Wish and Christopher’s Challenge shared the excitement and the Kick Cancer 15K Race Series materialized. With participation at each 5K expected to increase, awareness will be heightened and the vision of a world without cancer will be clearer. “We are all working toward the same goal,” said Lauren Spiker, Executive Director and Founder of 13thirty. “Together, we increase our impact.”The 4th Annual 13thirty Bandana Bolt 5K will take place in Seneca Park on Sunday, May 15, 2016; the 4th Annual Anna’s Wish 5K will take place in Black Creek Park on Sunday, June 19, 2016; Christopher’s Challenge 5K will take place in Webster Park on Sunday, August 14, 2016, the final leg of the Kick Cancer 15K Race Series.
