With the Buffalo Sabres suffering more injuries to the forward group, the team has called up forward Danny O'Regan from the Rochester Americans.

On Tuesday, the Sabres announced the center Kyle Criscuolo will be out 4-to-6 weeks with an upper-body injury after taking a hit from Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matt Martin on Monday night. That list also includes Jack Eichel (ankle) and Evan Rodrigues (upper-body), who are both listed as week-to-week.

O'Regan was acquired just nine days ago from the San Jose Sharks as part of the Evander Kane deal at the NHL Trade Deadline. The 24-year old has since played three games in the American Hockey League with the Amerks, scoing two goals in that span.

The former fifth round pick of the Sharks in the 2012 NHL Draft has spent most of the season in the AHL with the San Jose Barracuda, scoring seven goals and registering 25 points in 31 games. O'Regan also played 19 games in the NHL with the Sharks this year, putting up four assists along with a minus-3 rating.

O'Regan has one NHL goal to his credit, coming in the season finale with the Sharks last season.

At Wednesday's morning skate, O'Regan spent time centering a line with Nick Baptiste and Seth Griffith, while rotating in and out with Benoit Pouliot. However, it was confirmed by head coach Phil Housley after practice that O'Regan will not play on Wednesday when the Sabres host the Calgary Flames at KeyBank Center.

Housley said he can see O'Regan getting some games in the future here, maybe tomorrow, but he won't play tonight. Housley said Pouliot played some center last year.
