Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - Johan Larsson said he will not appeal his two game suspension from the NHL which means he’ll sit out tonight against St. Louis and Tuesday vs Anaheim.

Larsson was suspended for a cross check to the face of Florida’s Vincent Trocheck. The league acknowledged Larsson’s point that the cross check was to the shoulder and then his stick rode up to Trocheck’s face, but the NHL Department of Player Safety maintained that you must be in control of your stick at all times.

Larsson thought maybe he’d get one game, but he doesn’t agree with two, “It’s tough, I’m a little surprised I got two games, but it is what it is and I’ll just move on.”

“I have no history, so I’m kind of surprised I got two games, I mean the guy didn’t get hurt or anything.”

During the hearing, Larsson was talking to them about intent. He said, “I told my story of it, my intention was not to cross check him in the head, so then they kind of think about it and then they got the decision going.”

Join Brian Koziol for the pregame tonight when he’ll be joined by Phil Housley, Johan Larsson, Jason Pominville and Nate Beaulieu.
