NFL moves Bills at Dolphins week 17 game to 4:25 PM

December 25, 2017

In order to ensure that all games with playoff implications that impact each other are played at the same time, the NFL has flexed several week seventeen games from 1:00 PM to 4:25 PM, including Bills at Dolphins.  Additionally, tthere will be no Sunday night game in Week 17.  There is also no Monday Night Football game, as usual for the final week.

Two other games that have implications for the Bills' playoff chances were also moved.  Cincinnati at Baltimore and Jacksonville at Tennessee.  In order to make the postseaon, the Bills need to win their game at Miami then have either the Ravens lose to the Bengals or have both the Titans lose to the Jaguars AND the Chargers lose to the Raiders.  The Raiders at Chargers game was already scheduled for 4:25 PM.

“We felt that both from a competitive standpoint and from a fan perspective, the most fair thing to do is to schedule all Week 17 games in either the 1 PM or 4:25 PM ET windows,” said NFL Senior Vice President of Broadcasting Howard Katz.  “This ensures that we do not have a matchup on Sunday Night Football on New Year’s Eve that because of earlier results has no playoff implications for one or both of the competing teams.”

Two NFC games with playoff implications, Panthers at Falcons and Saints and Buccaneers, were also moved from 1 PM to 4:25 PM.
