QUEENSRYCHE & GEOFF TATE To 'Kiss & Make Up?

The singers tackles the question in a recent interview.

November 30, 2017

With the exception of the 2 most recent QUEENSRYCHE albums (2013's 'Queensryche' & 'Condition Human' from 2015) the hard-rockin' Seattle band's legacy was built upon the vocals of Geoff Tate, and stellar works like 'Operation: Mindcrime' and 'Empire.' I would think that most fans of the band would be in agreement that Mr. Tate's vocals are part of the DNA of Queensryche, and in a recent interview with the on-line site, All That Shreds, the singer with an 8 octave range affirmed that, "I'll always be the voice of QUEENSRŸCHE." It's been just over 3 years since Geoff Tate and the other members of Queensryche reached a settlement in the contentious, 2-year battle to determine who had the right to use and tour under the name 'Queensryche.' The settlement forged an agreement with the other members that allowed them to continue using the band's name while Tate had the exclusive right to perform the albums "Operation: Mindcrime" and "Operation: Mindcrime II" in their entirety live. So, now that the legal stuff has been worked out, the inevitable question is, Will Geoff Tate and Queensryche reunite? In the interview, Geoff Tate says, "I would never say never really. I keep my mind open for that. You know, who knows? If everybody in the band wanted to do it and came into it with a positive mental attitude and didn't feel like they're dragged into it, it can be very honest and sincere. I'd like it to be a legitimate sort of getting together where we could all enjoy each other's company. You know, that would be fantastic." If any such reunion should happen, it's unclear where that would leave current Queensryche singer, Todd La Torre...however, that's encouraging news and Queensryche fans will have to wait and see if it will happen. Hope so. In the meantime, Mr. Tate is prepping the third and final release (December) of a 'concept album trilogy' titled 'A New Reality' from his current outfit, 'Operation:Mindcrime. Rock On, Queensryche!
