Boston, MA (WGR 550) - With the injury to Nate Beaulieu, the Sabres have called up Zach Redmond from Rochester. Redmond was acquired right before opening night from Montreal for Nick Deslauriers.

In four games with the Amerks, Redmond is one of their leading scorers with a goal and two assists.

Redmond is 29 and was drafted in the 7th round by Atlanta in 2008. Since then, he’s had NHL stops in Montreal, Colorado and Winnipeg. That equals 130 NHL games. He has nine goals and 29 assists for 38 points.

It’s not known if it’ll be Redmond or Taylor Fedun that will play tonight in Boston. With the way the Sabres defense has played in the last two games, both could go in.

The Sabres are starting to get hit hard by injuries. On defense, Zach Bogosian, Josh Gorges, Justin Falk and Beaulieu are out. Forwards injured are Zemgus Girgensons, Jacob Josefson and Evan Rodrigues.

Join Brian Koziol for tonight’s pregame at 6:00 where he’ll be joined by Phil Housley, Taylor Fedun and Zach Redmond.
