LOU GRAMM & Other Original Members Play w/ Foreigner!

1st 'Reunion' of band members since 1980...

July 21, 2017

For reasons unknown to yours truly (and many others), the highly anticipated, eagerly awaited 'Reunion' of original FOREIGNER members DID NOT take place in either Syracuse N.Y. or Darien Lake N.Y., the 2 closest markets to Lou Gramm's hometown of Rochester, N.Y., BUT...it did happen at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y. (Long Island) on July 20th. The re-vamped FOREIGNER line-up that features lead singer, Kelly Hansen, has just begun the Foreigner '40th Anniversary Tour,' and the appearance of 4 of the 5 original Foreigner band members marks the 1st time they have played together in over 3 dozen years!  Joining LOU GRAMM and MICK JONES on stage for a 3-song encore were keyboardist, AL GREENWOOD, and multi-instrumentalist, IAN MACDONALD, and along with the other current band members cranked out 3 great FOREIGNER Classics: "Long, Long Way From Home," "Hot Blooded," & "I Wanna Know What Love Is." (see video below!) Of course, LOU GRAMM was the front-man for FOREIGNER during their 'glory years' of 1976-2003, returning briefly in the early 90's, and then gone for good, with the only other time that Jones & Gramm played together occurring at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremonies in 2013... Other original FOREIGNER members DENNIS ELLIOT (drums) did not participate, and bassist ED GAGLIARDI died in 2014. The FOREIGNER '40th Anniversary Tour' continues thru early September, with CHEAP TRICK and JASON BONHAM'S 'Led Zeppelin Experience.' Rock On!
