U2 and Saoirse Ronan Dial Up Their Accents for 'SNL' Promos

This week, Lady Bird star Saoirse Ronan is hosting Saturday Night Live with musical guest U2. Both acts hail from the emerald shores of Ireland and in a series of promo videos, Ronan and U2 chatter in their accents. Cast member Kenan Thompson found himself the odd man out, standing in a circle of Irish artists.

“Isn’t it insane that in this situation, I’m the one with the accent?” Kenan said.

It’s been a week of professional triumphs for U2 and the young actress: Rolling Stone just named the band’s new album Songs of Experience the number 3 record of the year, and its single “Lights of Home” is number 5 on the magazine’s 50 best songs of 2017 list. Meanwhile, Ronan’s film became the best-reviewed movie in Rotten Tomatoes history.
