Roxette Retire From Touring Due To Marie Fredriksson's Poor Health

April 28, 2016
Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has been advised by her doctors to refrain from touring due to her declining health.  The popular 80's band were scheduled to begin the last leg of their RoXXXette 30th Anniversary tour on June 3, however their final show was to be at the Grand Arena in Cape Town, South Africa on February 8, 2016.

In 2002, Fredriksson fainted in her bathroom, hitting her head and receiving a concussion.  Scans indicated that Fredriksson had a brain tumor in the back of her head.  She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and she endured months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.  Unfortunately, her health has deteriorated in recent years.

Fredriksson and guitarist Per Gessle have released statements below about the end of the band's touring days and encourage fans to check out their 10th studio album Good Karma this June 3.

"It's been an amazing 30 years!  The joyride on the road is now over — but we sure had fun, didn't we?"
