RHCP Cancel Gigs After Anthony Kiedis Hospitalized

May 16, 2016
Red Hot Chili Peppers were forced to cancel their Saturday appearance at KROQ's annual Weenie Roast in Irvine, California at the last minute after lead singer Anthony Kiedis was hospitalized with intestinal flu.

Kiedis was already at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater when he began experiencing "extreme stomach pain," a KROQ rep said. Kiedis was transported from the venue to a nearby hospital. Chili Peppers bassist Flea told the crowd they would not be performing (video below) and drummer Chad Smith Tweeted the note below to their fans.

In addition to the Wennie Roast show, the Chili Peppers have also postponed their IHeart Radio concert scheduled for May 17.
