Mott The Hoople Bassist Pete Overend Watts Dead At 69

Mott The Hoople bassist and founding member Pete Overend Watts died Sunday, January 22 at the age of 69 after a six-year battle with throat cancer. Mott frontman Ian Hunter posted a short note to Facebook below.

Former Mott keyboardist Morgan Fisher also commented of the bassist's death, writing, "I can't speak, am numb. He left this world as a total hero, a samurai. Love you, Pete."
