Watch Gregg Allman Play Final Allman Brothers Band Show

May 31, 2017

The loss of The Allman Brothers Band founding member Gregg Allman has touched those in just about every genre throughout the music community. Unfortunately, the ABB are no strangers to tragedy, but despite all the heartache the band’s endured throughout the decades (several deaths, breakups, and more), the ABB continued to play live music for their fans. Now, after this year’s passing of Butch Trucks and Gregg Allman, there won’t be any more live shows, but they sure did go out with a bang in 2014.

The final ABB performance took place on October 28, 2014 at New York’s Beacon Theater—the site of their annual residency. Rather than playing one of their hits for the last song, the band covered blues legend Muddy Waters’ “Trouble No More,” which, according to Rolling Stone, was the first song played at the first ABB rehearsal back in ‘69. Talk about full circle.
