When Van Halen rolled into Rochester's Silver Stadium on September 1, 1986, it was the final show of the 2nd leg of their North American tour in support of the 5150 album, their first with Sammy Hagar... The band would take a month off before finishing the tour in early November, after having performed 111 shows.

The sound check footage shows the VH members relaxed, loose, and playful as they go thru the set list and check various positions and such. BTW, Eddie just tears off one great lick after another throughout! And this is fun: at about the 9:50 mark, Eddie starts playing the (now) familiar riff of "Black and Blue," which would appear on the next Van Halen album, "OU812." The band also starts riffing on a few other songs, including some Zeppelin, The Who, Cream, and an abbreviated version of the Surf classic, 'Wipeout' with a "guest drummer." Good stuff. (I LOVE the internet for stuff like this!)
