John Lennon's Nasty 1971 Letter To Paul McCartney

November 17, 2016
A 1971 letter from John Lennon to Paul McCartney showing how strained their friendship was after Lennon left The Beatles is up for auction this week. The letter is a response to an article from Linda and Paul McCartney that apparently made Lennon irate.

Lennon's trite response: "I was reading your letter and wondering what middle aged cranky Beatles fan wrote it. Do you really think most of today's art came about because of the Beatles? — I don't believe you're that insane — Paul — do you believe that?"

Despite the strong tone, Lennon says, "inspite of it all, love to you both." The letter is expected to sell for $20,000+ and more info can be found HERE.
