CD Reviews - Tesla, Michael Sweet, Twisted Sister

TESLA - MECHANICAL RESONANCE LIVE!
The title here tells the story. Tesla have released a live album featuring every song from their 1986 debut Mechanical Resonance. The songs (for some unknown reason) are in a different order from the original CD, however there's one bonus track included here. "Save That Goodness" is an uplifting sing-along song co-written and produced by Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. The live tunes sound great (although tuned down from their original keys) and standout tracks include "Modern Day Cowboy" and personal fav "Cover Queen".

MICHAEL SWEET - ONE SIDED WAR
Stryper vocalist has released several solo albums throughout his career and One Sided War is one of his heaviest efforts. Featuring a guest appearance by Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake) on the track "Radio", the song is a spoof of rockers like Bret Michaels and Steven Tyler that have recently gone country. "I'm gonna write a country song and it won't be long 'til I'm on the radio. And when it goes to number one I'm gonna fake the fun like a clown in a rodeo." Easily one of my favorite tunes (and videos) of 2016!

TWISTED SISTER - THE BEST OF THE ATLANTIC YEARS
This 19-track TS release is a standard "greatest hits" slash "best of" affair, but I picked it up because of the more obscure tracks "Hot Love" and the heavier than it sounds "Love Is For Suckers". Also included as a bonus track is a 2005 cover of "Born To Be Wild" by Steppenwolf. Plenty of Stay Hungry tracks are included here including their biggest hits "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It."
