Bills GM Doug Whaley told WGR this morning wide receiver Sammy Watkins will practice on a limited basis today.

Watkins is currently on injured reserve but is eligible to come off the list if the the Bills choose to use their lone IR-Designated to Return option on him.

The star wideout has missed the last eight games with a foot injury.  He originally had surgery on the foot during the offseason then played in the team’s first two games before being shut down once again to give the foot more time to heal.

Whaley cautioned that the fourth-overall pick in 2014 may not play this week when the team takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars.  He said the medical staff will evaluate Watkins’ foot after practice and throughout the week and also see how he feels before making that determination.
