The Buffalo Sabres have announced they've recalled both defenseman Brendan Guhle and goaltender Linus Ullmark from the Rochester Americans. Both players have key pieces helping lead the Amerks to a 22-8-3 record that 3rd best in the AHL.

For Guhle, this is his first call up of the season. Last year he was recalled on an emergency basis from juniors. Guhle played in 3 games and recorded no points. Ullmark was recalled earlier in the year just for practice when Robin Lehner was given a maintenance day.

This season Guhle has provided offense on the Amerks blue line, with 7 goals and 13 assists in 35 games. He's played a lot on the top pair with Casey Nelson. Ullmark was named an AHL All-Star thanks to a 17-5-1 record and a .928 save percentage.

We'll get a better sense of if they'll play tomorrow night against the Winnipeg Jets, today after practice.
