From the Locker Room: Sabres-Blues

The Buffalo Sabres played host to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night in KeyBank Center. This would be the first of two games that the Sabres would be without forward Johan Larsson, who is currently serving a two-game suspension for a cross-check to the head of Panthers' forward Vincent Trocheck during Buffalo's loss to Florida on Thursday night.

On this night, the Carter Hutton-led St. Louis Blues came into Western New York and stole a shutout victory at the hands of Buffalo. Carl Gunnarsson was the lone goal scorer for the Blues in the waning minutes of the third period, and a late Sabre onslaught was not enough to find twine. Buffalo continues to search for their first win since the All-Star Break.

Go inside the locker room to hear from Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Robin Lehner and Phil Housley following the loss.

Jack Eichel:

Tough pill: "I thought we threw a lot at [Hutton] in the final 10 minutes. They get a bounce there. It's a tough one to swallow. I thought he did a good job at the end of the game."

On the St. Louis Blues: "They're a big, physical team. I thought we came in and played hard. I thought we played with some passion. Guys were blocking shots and throwing their body around."

Robin Lehner:

Final period of regulation: "[The Blues] came out and took it to us [in the third period]. Then, we had a good powerplay there. Unfortunately, they score one bar and in and we get one bar and out."

Phil Housley:

Pucks. To. Net.: "We passed up way too many opportunities. If we want to score 5-on-5, we have to get pucks to the net. It could've gone either way, but we still have to bring a great effort."

Robin's night: "I really liked the way he played tonight. He made some critical saves for us. He has to continue to play that way. He had command in the net. He was really solid."
