The Sabres are on the ice for their final preseason game in 2017, welcoming the New York Islanders to KeyBank Center. The two teams are scoreless in the first period. Check back throughout the night for updates.

First Period

18:25 - We are getting maybe the best look at what the opening night roster for the Sabres is going to look like, with Robin Lehner in goal.

14:01 - This game feels like a regular season game; very little going on in the first few minutes as the teams feel through the start. The heavy hitters are even on the ice for the Islanders tonight, but it has not generated early offense. Shots are 2-1 in favor of Buffalo. None of the three are memorable.

5:39 - Isles take the first penalty of the game with a hook, sending the Sabres to the power play. Buffalo has a couple good chances, but fails to score on their first man advantage.

2:53 - Just off the penalty kill the Islanders take the 1-0 with a goal from Anders Lee.
