Eichel skating; Guhle recalled from Rochester

March 4, 2018

The Sabres play the Maple Leafs for the first time all season, on Monday night. It'll likely be a Toronto heavy crowd in Buffalo for the first of four meetings between the two teams still to come.

Head coach Phil Housley told the media that Jack Eichel skated for the first time since his ankle sprain on Saturday. Housley wouldn't provide a timeline for his return, but did provide optimism that he'll return before the end of the season. It's been just over 4 weeks since Eichel was injured in Boston on February 10th. His original timetable for return was set at 4-6 weeks.

The Sabres have recalled Brendan Guhle and Kyle Criscuolo from the Amerks. Guhle has played just two games for the Sabres this year, Criscuolo has played in eight.

Guhle is having a great season in Rochester with 24 points in 47 games, but has been held pointless in seven straight. He did record an assist the last time he played for Buffalo.

Criscuolo has put up numbers as of late, with 3 goals and 8 assists in his last 11 games. He's still looking for his first carer NHL point.
