St. Louis Mo. (WGR 550) - The Sabres are catching a huge break as the Blues will be without two of their best players. Second leading scorer Jaden Schwartz is out about six week and captain Alex Pietrangelo is also injured.

St. Louis had already been playing without Robby Fabbri and Carter Hutton.

The Blues lead the Central Division with 42 points. That’s two ahead of Nashville.

St. Louis blew out the Red Wings in Detroit yesterday 6-1 and have won three straight. The Blues traded for Brayden Schenn at the draft and the former Flyer is their leading scorer with 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 30 games. That ranks him 7th in league scoring. Schenn has five goals in his last three games.

Jake Allen hasn’t put up great numbers this season going 16-6-2 with a 2.56 goals against and .912 save percentage.

Allen has played in seven straight games allowing just one goal in his last two starts.

The Blues star player Vladimir Tarasenko has 13 goals this season in 30 games. He’s fallen on hard times lately with just one goal in eight games.

The Sabres will start Robin Lehner in goal. He made 48 saves in an overtime loss in Chicago. Buffalo has picked up three of four points on this trip and have a chance to go home with five of six points.

Zemgus Girgensons returns after being benched for two games. Jordan Nolan will sit out. Nate Beaulieu is back in Buffalo sick.

In his last three games Rasmus Ristolainen played 31:44, 30:42 and 28:11. The only games he played well in was in the one in Denver.

Ryan O’Reilly hasn’t scored a goal in 10 games. He’s only had four assists in that time.

Jack Eichel has been flying in his past few games and has four points in three games.

Join Brian Koziol for the pregame tonight at 6:00 when he’ll be joined by Phil Housley, Zemgus Girgensons and Justin Falk.
